Mt Arlington Sewer and Water

Just curious as to way other people pay. In Mt Arlington I pay $324.90 a quarter for sewer and about $90-$100 a quarter for water. I know this is way more than Hackettstown pays. Is this because Mt Arlington is still paying off their sewer loan? If so how much longer am I going to have to pay this and how much will it be afterwards?? I could really use an extra $100 bucks per month!

Found this in Town Council minutes:

"Ms. Deguise asked the basis of the sewer assessment. The Mayor stated that an owner pays a user fee and an infrastructure fee. The Mayor stated that once the loan is paid off, there will no longer be an EDU or infrastructure fee; it originally started out at $300 per quarter. Ms. Deguise asked if there was a standard water rate for town; the Mayor stated that we do not have a standard because we use three water companies – United Water, MUA (includes Ridge View) and Roxbury. That might explain the spikes in my water bill. I wonder if I can find out what kind of loan it was, 10, 15, 20, 30 years.... Hopefully its less than that, but they should have an estimate of when they expect to pay it off. Those minutes were from 2005. I'll cross my fingers for a 5 year loan but I doubt it :-)

How much is it to replace a septic though? Isn't like 25k or something?

It is $$$$$.. the thing is to maintain it..get it pumped every 2 years
Maintaining also means to be careful of what goes into it.....things like kitchen grease from cooking...personal hygeine products should never go down your drain or toilet...make sure the laundry soap you use is safe for septics..limit the use of bleach as it kills the good bacteria in your septic as well
