South End of Lake Dry?

I drove by yesterday and noticed the south side of the lake is almost completely dry? Is this normal or is something going on?

I think its part of the 3 year cycle to drain it down a couple of feet. That or they did it for the winter. Not too sure.

I stand corrected. The 5 ft drain began on 2 September 2008. It has an annual 26 inch drawdown and a 60 inch (5ft) five year drawdown. For more Q&A see the link below.

yea, I noticed that too. It looks like a mini island in the middle of that lake now because it's drained. I wonder how they fill that back up.

I don't know. I think they just let the rain fill it back up. It would have been neat to walk along the shoreline right after they drained it in hopes of finding something interesting.

Travis,,i heard the lake area there has numerous HUGH water rats and wondering if thats true they can chew right through the insulation of a waterfront home? If so,where do they go when the lake is drained? Anybody know?

I've never seen a water rat by the lake. The only pests I have had to deal with is squirrels and the occasional ant, house centipede (so gross), or spider.

my friend lives up there and she heard that they werent going to replenish the lake during the winter months hopeing to cut back on the number of lake related accidents. You always get adrenaline junkie who ignores the thin-ice warning and has to be rescued
