may be moving to HOPATCONG!! NEED ADVICEHI EVERYONE!!
I am new to this....and looking for information.
I grew up in Hopatcong from the age of 3 until 14 and my family moved to Bergen County. I now have a family of my own. My kids are 3 and 11. We cannot afford a house here in Bergen County and are seriuosly looking into relocating to Hopatcong. I was wondering if anyone could please give me some info...schools, neighboorhood, people there.....When I lived there (I'm 31 now) it was such a great place to grow up and I am sure it's changed so I wanted to get some feedback from people who live there now especially families with children.. this would be happening sometime in 2010 and my daughter would be starting school in a new area and no knowing anyone so it's a drastic change....any advice/info would sooo greatly be appreicated!!! thanks!!!  mommysc  Aug '09   · link · flag
From what I have heard the schools in Mount Arlington, Roxbury, and surrounding area are pretty good. I am not too sure about Hopatcong schools. Roxburry made the top 100 schools in NJ at this website:

They have listing of other schools.
I have lived in the area for about 3 years and enjoy it. Close to NYC, Rockaway mall, Lake Hopatcong, and other amendities. It is a really neat area with lots of history. I have never felt unsafe in the area.  travisAug '09 link · flag Thanks Travis!
